Hello everyone, and welcome to our blog! Today, we have some very exciting news to share with you. On Sunday, May 21 2017 ILO will be hosting another fun-raising event: a Bike/Hike along the C&O Canal in Bethesda, M.D.

We invite you to join us, and help us continue to advance our mission of creating intentional communities for adults with disabilities in Washington, D.C. and Maryland.

Event Details

Date & Time

As mentioned, the Bike/Hike takes place Sunday, May 21, 2017 at the C & O Canal. The event begins at 9:00 am, with all participants gathering at the Carderock Picnic Area. At 9:30, the Bike/Hike begins. At 11:00, all participants and supporters meet again at Carderock Picnic area for post-bike/hike food and celebration.

Participation

Participants can either bike or hike along the canal’s towpath towards Great Falls (distance for the full round trip is about 8 km). Individuals that would like to participate in the event without biking or hiking are invited to gather at the Carderock Picnic Area with ILO families and supporters.

Please note: If you are interested in attending this event as a rider but do not have a bike, Bikes To Borrow offers a one-day rental. They will deliver it to Carderock.

Registration

The Registration fee for this event is $25 per person. Participants will receive a t-shirt, and food and drink at the picnic. Those interested in registering can do so by following this link. We encourage those that are participating to reach out to friends and family to sponsor their ride or walk – we also hope that you take the time to spread the word about this event to friends, family, and colleagues.
