In just seven days (August 3), Integrated Living Opportunities (ILO) will be teaming up with Bike to the Beach (B2B) for their DC Ride for Autism and Disabilities. ILO Founder and CEO Maedi Tanham Carney will be riding to represent ILO, alongside fellow board member and parent Gerry Dorros, and Gerry’s friend Rip Collins. Note: bios for both Maedi and Gerry can be found here.

As a B2B Silver Partner, ILO has pledged to raise funds, help organize/manage the ride, and generally spread awareness about this organization and their annual charity rides. We have been preparing for this event for weeks now, and thanks to the hard work of Gerry Dorros and Rip Collins, we have risen to #3 in the team rankings for fundraising.

In the final week leading up to this event, ILO would love to count on your support to help us make this event as successful as possible.

Support ILO

Participate in this Epic 100-Mile Ride: IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO REGISTER TO RIDE!

One of the ways in which you can support ILO is to register for this ride and participate in either the 50 or 100-mile event. B2B prides itself on making this experience as easy as possible – they will take care of food, water, rest stops, mechanical support, and will even arrange bike rentals and returns. Please join the ILO team.

Registration is $100 per rider. There is also a commitment to meet a $500 minimum fundraising goal, however B2B provides many tools to help participants meet that goal. These tools include email templates, fundraising websites (that can be personalized), as well as helpful tips and information that can help you in your fundraising efforts. All monies raised help support B2B and their partner organizations.

If you would like more information about this experience, please check out B2B’s ride guide – a comprehensive summary of everything participants can expect during the DC event, including suggested training guides and routes, as well as how to pack, scheduled rest stops, and more.

If you are not in the Washington, D.C. area and would still like to participate, please check out B2B’s Virtual Ride – follow the link for more information.

As mentioned, ILO Founder & CEO Maedi Tanham Carney, Gerry Dorros and Rip Collins will be riding in this event to support ILO. ILO has been very successful in their fundraising efforts, rising to #3 in the DC team rankings.

ILO and our team could still use your support to make this event an even greater success. If you would like to donate to ILO’s fundraising efforts and help us rise even further in the team rankings, please donate directly to Maedi’s Bike to the Beach Facebook page, found here. If you would like more information on ILO please contact us.

Volunteer

As a B2B silver partner, ILO has also committed to help out with the management/organization of this event. If you are interested in volunteering your time to help us, we would really appreciate it. Spreading the word about this event and our organization to your family, friends and colleagues would also help our cause tremendously! Please feel free to share this blog with your contacts.

Thanks to everyone that has donated and/or supported ILO and B2B so far. If you would like to learn more about B2B as an organization, please visit their website, www.biketothebeach.org, DC Ride Guide or check out our B2B blog archive.

ILO supporters will be gathered at rest stop #1 in Crofton MD. These brave souls will be supporting the riders from 6:00 am -7:30 am and will need to be there at 5:30 am to help set up. ILO supporters will also be a packet pick up on August 1st downtown DC. If you would like to volunteer for this event, please contact us. We would love to see you there!
